Transcript: Congratulations on installing your brand-new Spectra Premium electronic throttle body. Firstly, check the vehicle for any pre-existing trouble codes and make the appropriate repairs. Inspect the PCB system. Inspect the engine for any damaged hoses that could cause a vacuum leak.

Special attention should be given to the PCV system, oil dipstick, and filler cap seals for damage. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds to reset the onboard computer. Do not perform the relearn if the service engine soon light is on and codes related to the mass airflow sensor, manifold absolute pressure, or incorrect idle speed are found. If everything is in order, we can begin.

Third, turn off all accessories such as the air conditioning, rear window defogger, radio, and heater blower to prevent a load on the engine which would cause erroneous positioning of the throttle plate. Finally, make sure the front wheels of the vehicle are in the neutral position pointing straight ahead. We are now ready to perform the required relearn procedure.

Make sure the accelerator pedal is fully released. Turn the ignition switch on without starting the engine for at least 2 seconds. Turn the ignition switch off for at least 10 seconds. Again, turn the ignition on for at least 2 seconds. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds.

This action will inform the computer on the new release position of the accelerator pedal and the closed position. Now that this is done, we can move on to the next step. Please make sure to follow these next instructions precisely as every action is performed within a few seconds.

Rough idle

Turn the ignition switch on and wait 3 seconds. Immediately after the 3 seconds, the accelerator pedal must be pressed and released 5 times within 5 seconds. Wait 7 seconds and fully press the accelerator pedal and hold for approximately 20 seconds until the check engine light stops blinking and stays on. Within 3 seconds after the check engine light stays constantly on, release the accelerator pedal.

Now start the engine and let it idle. After 20 seconds, rev up the engine a couple of times to ensure idle speed is within specifications. After replacing bank 2 cam sensor, the idle is much smoother, but still rough and shaking. Cleared the codes and P is now gone though. I cannot for the life of me get my big hands in there to change the other cam sensor. I have read others did it fairly easily, how??

Small hands? I got the bolt out of it, but I cant get the sensor out, or see how to without removing things.

Please let me know how yall have done this. The P code is still coming back and I realize it can be numerous things and its a random misfire. I have a Certified Limited Limited Warranty and they say these items are not cover but the crank sensor seal and the camshaft sensor seal are covered. I called Gray Daniels Service asking what the difference was and he said the seal is included with the sensor but can be bought separate.

My 02 Automatic Transmission Maxima with 60, miles has just started running rough. When I come to a complete stop the car starts shaking and almost feels like someone is in a car next to me with really loud base. The RPMs are fine there is no check engine light and the engine has not stalled but seems very aggitated.

If I put it in park or neutral the shaking goes away. Any Ideas on what this may be????? I would appreciate any ideas. Even if the light is not ON, you should still check for codes.

I don't think the problem is the transmission, it sounds more like a bad ignition coil or air flow meter. Find local automotive repair shops in your area. The check engine light came on today on my way to get the code s checked. I went to Advance Auto and had them test it, it came up with a P code bank 2 and it said the exhaust was lean. According to the employee it is an 02 sensor.

Does that sound correct? I guess my next step is getting a diagnostic check completed and most likely 1 more of the 4 oxygen sensors replaced. I don't know where you are at since your last post, but the symptoms sound very similar to the mass air flow MAF meter problems that I recently had. It is way too common a problem with these cars, but a pretty easy fix. For my the part was about a hundred bucks But it seems I read something where they altered the part a bit and for newer maximas its a bit more pricey.

The good thing about the fix is after I put in the new part the idle was not only better, but the power went back up. I grabbed my ankles for a recommended remap of my ecu afterward which may or may not have helped. Either way, good luck. FYI, I changed all 6 ignition coils a couple years ago.

You shouldn't replace the O2 sensor. Just wanted to post so that if anyone else may have the same problem you might save more money than myself. It turned out to be the MAF. This part cost me bucks and also had a bad 02 sensor.

I drove with the car running the way it was for 3 weeks and ruined my spark plugs. Total cost was bucks from the Nissan dealer. My recommendation is that if you have check engine light on and it is the MAF code, get it fixed asap to prevent more damage. THe car now runs like it was brand new, quiet and fast.

My high idle was then fixed by installing a new throttle body.

The dealer wanted I was able to buy one from a guy I know. If anyone needs a throttle body let me know and I can get them a deal on one. What a relief to finally get rid of my high idle. I guess I'll never clean my TB again. Eddy, a while back I did pull off my throttle body and manually cleaned it, even moving the 'butterfly' to get the dirt off. I put it back on and so far the car has been idling fine. Could I have been an exception?

The other day I was installing the grounding kit that I made for my car and saw the carbon buildup in my TB. I opened the butterfly plate and cleaned it up a lil bit with a rag. Same, I have a Nissan murano, It shakes pretty agressivley whenever i accelerate. Its an on and off thing. Sometimes when the engine gets warmed up it shakes at idle but goes away and comes back.

And while im driving it goes from normal smooth driving to shaky. I thinking its the spark plugs but im not sure. Ill be replacing them tomorrow hopefully thats it. Also take a close look at the heat shield on your catalytic converter. When those come lose they can create major vibrations in your engine.

Simple solution is a 1 foot rubber clamp that you can buy at any auto parts store that is specific to your year and model converter.

Its likely the CEL is lit, if so, get the trouble code first. There is no CEL, I did all the work myself. How can I find a vacuum leak. I also changed the belt and tension pulley. Nothing is working. Idle still rough in gear. The car doesn't want to stall Rpm are good just idle rough in gear and at stop lights and stop signs. Do you think I need to change the intake gaskets??? If so does anyone have info in how to tackle that?
